In the mid-1970s, as a听young immigrant woman, I was combing through the听Winnipeg neighbourhood听in听search听of job听and noticed discarded paper and cardboard piles in back alleys.听I听immediately听recognized an opportunity听from that pile of discarded waste.听Hailing from a country with huge population, recycling was mandatory to听maintain听the environmental health.听Why not put the same idea to use here?听

It was through a minority perspective that the Emterra Group was born. …
